This session will interest copy editors and food writers who want to learn the basics of recipe editing. With an emphasis on the need for consistency, the workshop will address what to watch for in ingredient lists and methods. Along with an overview of reference tools and resources, there will be discussions about standard recipe components and phrases, style sheets and author preferences. Examples and copy editing exercises will draw from magazines and cookbooks. Practical tips on proofreading a cookbook will also be offered.
