This 3.5 hour hands-on seminar will cover the basics of Excel 2007, with plenty of time to ask questions and try things out for yourself. Topics will include finding your way around Excel menus; commonly used Excel formulas; formatting text, cells and tables; cutting, copying, pasting and reordering data; sorting and filtering data; freezing, hiding and grouping rows or columns; and setting print areas and print layouts. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops with their own version of Excel 2007 and any spreadsheets they would like help with.

Cathena Langford is an editor at Tsavo Media, where she prepares content for publication on the Web. Pen-and-paper to-do lists are not enough to keep up with the ever-changing priorities of an Internet publishing company, so she has had to master more flexible technology. She uses Excel daily to track scheduling, assignments and invoicing. Before joining Tsavo, Cathena taught English at Humber College, where Excel also came in handy for maintaining student records. |
