Introduction to Reference Manager

Using Reference Manager, you will learn how to effortlessly create databases of references and generate perfect bibliographies, in any style, whether it is APA, Chicago, Uniform Requirements or any of a multitude of others that are prescribed by journal publishers. This course is intended for those with little or no experience with Reference Manager; however, you should be comfortable using Word.

In this course you will learn to:
• Effortlessly create and manage databases
• Automatically create bibliographies as you write
• Import references from other bibliographic management software
• Automatically import standard journal abbreviations
• Customize your reference list display and output styles

Note: While the class will be mainly show-and-tell style, those who wish to may bring a laptop with Reference Manager software on it and follow along.

  Kellee Kaulback is currently a Medical Information Officer with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. She uses Reference Manager daily, and teaches and supports the software regularly. She has been teaching for over ten years, and has developed and conducted workshops at the University of Toronto, among others. She holds a Masters Degree from the Faculty of Information Studies at the University of Toronto, and has been published in many peer-reviewed journals.
