Manuscript Evaluation

Registration Information | Registration Form | Seminar Locations | Seminar for Editors

Whether you work in-house or freelance, on fiction, non-fiction or textbooks, you will be sometimes be asked to decide if a manuscript is publishable.  Even more intimidatingly, you’ll be asked to comment on how to make it publishable. If you’re new in publishing, you’ll likely be asked to take care of the slush for a while. What do you look for? How do you organise the evaluation? If you are freelance, how much do you charge? And how do you gently tell a “writer” to consider another career?

Instructor: Greg Ioannou, has evaluated fiction and non-fiction manuscripts, both for publishers and for authors, for over 30 years. He’s the president of Colborne Communications, a Toronto writing and editing company, and the publisher of Iguana Books, an ebook publisher.
