Registration Information | Registration Form | Seminar Locations | Seminars for Editors
Whether you are thinking about becoming a freelance editor in the future or have already taken the plunge, this seminar will provide you with a wealth of practical information. The approach is down-to-earth and realistic; the facts and tips are all based on the real-life experiences of the seminar leader and others.
Topics covered include evaluating and improving your editing skills; acquiring the tools you need; getting work, including finding those all-important first jobs and translating them into a regular client base; networking, both graciously and successfully; creating a freelance resumé that works; being your own manager; and getting paid.
| | Instructor: Elizabeth d’Anjou has 18 years of experience as a freelance editor with a diverse clientele, from textbook publishers to corporations to non-profit agencies. She also teaches copy editing at Ryerson University. She has worked in-house, freelance, and in-between, and now embraces both the joys and the challenges of self-employment from her home in Prince Edward County. |
