Conference Reception

George Elliott Clarke

We are pleased to be hosting George Elliott Clarke, Toronto’s poet laureate, at the opening reception. Clarke will briefly speak about the place of editing in creating a “spontaneous” and “organic” draft of a poem and its archival future.

A revered writer, George Elliott Clarke is poet laureate of Toronto (2012–15). A University of Toronto professor, he’s also taught at Duke, McGill, and Harvard.
