The Editors' Association of Canada partners with the Language Portal of CanadaThe Editors' Association of Canada/Association canadienne des réviseurs (EAC) has signed an agreement with the Translation Bureau of Public Works and Government Services (PWGSC) to provide material for the Language Portal of Canada. EAC promotes high standards of professional editing as a key part of producing documents that communicate effectively. EAC, which has over 1,600 members from across the country, is incorporated federally as a bilingual not-for-profit membership association with the following objectives:
To achieve these objectives, EAC provides a wide range of programs and services to its members and to clients and the public. Some of the major ones are:
This partnership will help showcase EAC's programs and services, which not only meet the needs of members but also assist and support the many clients who use the services of editors. EAC members are hired by and/or provide services to numerous agencies in Canada and elsewhere that produce written communications, such as book publishers, newspapers and magazines, business, government, arts and entertainment agencies, not-for-profit groups, and the education, health care, science and technology sectors.
