Kitchener-Waterloo-Guelph TwigFR
Who We AreHaving met as an informal group for 8 years, we are the first twig to have officially formed under the Editors' Association of Canada, in September 2011. We cover the region of Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, and surrounding areas. What is a twig, you may ask? Twigs provide similar services as branches—for example, socializing, networking, and professional development—though they are located away from EAC branch cities. According to EAC policy, a twig must be composed of a minimum of five members. The purpose of a twig is to act as a tool to unite editors from smaller cities and rural locations so that they may support each other and make use of the resources offered by the Editors' Association of Canada. The Kitchener-Waterloo-Guelph twig looks forward to making information and events accessible to editors in their own communities. The Editors' Association of Canada strives to bring together all those dedicated to the written word, wherever they live, from the biggest metropolises to the smallest towns. When and Where We MeetOur meetings alternate between Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo. We meet on the third Tuesday of every month from September to June, with the exceptions of December, January, and February. In December we have a Christmas social, and we meet on the third Saturday morning of January and February to accommodate people travelling in from out of town in the unpredictable winter weather. Meetings are open to anyone who is interested in editing or learning about it. You do not have to be a member of EAC to attend.
