This 4-hour workshop builds on the basics of Web content creation learned in Writing and Editing for the Web. Participants will bring an assignment or a topic they’d like to write about for the Web and will be guided through the process of producing a full-length Web “document” (webpage, article, blog post). They will then hone their Web-editing skills by assessing each other’s content and preparing it for online delivery. These activities will be interspersed with a review of key issues, best practices, and helpful tools.
NOTE: Participants must have taken Writing and Editing for the Web and must come prepared with a topic or assignment of at least 350 words.
 | Instructor: A recovering technophobe, Emily Dockrill Jones has worked in Web publishing for nearly a decade. In late 2010, she started Page&Screen Communications, which specializes in producing online content and print promotional materials, as well as corporate communications training. She also teaches at George Brown College. Still a bookworm at heart, Emily can often be found perusing libraries and bookstores, indulging in the look, feel, and smell of actual, physical books.
