Profile

As your editor, my job is simple: take your text and make it better. I can help you present your work in its best possible form while remaining true to your vision and message.

I am comfortable with fiction to medical writing, a short report to an epic novel. I also have a passion for children's literature.

Here are some comments from my clients:

"A true pro---pleasure to work with!"

"I was very happy with her total approach to my project. To the way she presented her proposal, the willingness to ensure my project excelled and the final complete document which I really love. Excellent all the way."

"Dependable, professional, and thorough. I couldn't ask for more."

"I had written a book and was looking for an editor. Ms K. Thornley gave me an offer, among many, I saw was very good. However, I was not prepared for how good she was. I believed I was a good writer. But after my book had been touched by her magic, it is now truly fantastic. What I really wanted to say, so other people can understand is now a reality. If my book was good before, it is now beyond wonderful. I will anyday give my highest recommendation to Ms K. Thornley."

"Amazing person to work with and does an amazing job of going above and beyond what is expected."

I am currently working on my MSc in Health Communication through Boston University. I have a certificate in Publishing from Ryerson University, a certificate in Library Studies from Memorial University, and a BSc in Neuroscience and Biology from the University of Toronto. In addition to the Editors' Association of Canada, I am a member of the American Medical Writers Association, and the Council of Science Editors. I was also a judge for the Toronto Book Awards for three years (2010-2012) and was chair in my final year.

I am an instructor for the Editing program at George Brown College in Toronto. I also am a contractor for the Ontario Ministry of Finance for copy editing/proofreading and I have security clearance valid until 2021.
