Profile

I’ve worked as an editor and proofreader on everything from fan-fiction-inspired romance to literary fiction in translation and from university social sciences textbooks to royal commission reports. My expertise in fiction is in  fantasy, science fiction, romance (including erotica and New Adult), literary fiction, and all genres of YA. For science fiction and fantasy series authors, my services include world bible (series bible) creation and maintenance, whether you're catching up on a series begun earlier or just getting started now. My clients include established publishers and independent authors who are seeking contracts or self-publishing. Authors have called me “a true professional, incredibly thorough” and “the sweetest copy editor alive.”

Wearing other publishing hats, I am a director and Chair of the Book and Periodical Council, an umbrella group for Canadian book and magazine publishing associations. Until recently, I taught in and co-coordinated the Ryerson University Publishing certificate program.

I am, as well, a published and exhibited photographer; talk to me about stock or other illustrative material.

BA, English/theatre arts, University of Waterloo; MA and PhD, English, University of Toronto; post-graduate training, Ryerson University Publishing program.
