Invitation to informal roundtables at the conference

Hello, Editors Canada members and recently lapsed Editors Prairie Provinces members.

The 2016 conference in Vancouver is nearly here! To take full advantage of the fact that many of us are coming into town, we are organizing some informal roundtables of editors who have common interests. If you are

  • a branch or twig leader,
  • an in-house editor,
  • a remote member, or
  • a current or recently lapsed Editors Prairie Provinces (PPB) member (if you received this email, you're eligible),

we invite you to attend. Please see below for roundtable details.

These roundtables are meant to create an opportunity for you to meet with each other and discuss shared interests and concerns. We promise they'll be relaxed and enjoyable.

Please have a look at the following details, and if you'd like to meet up with some like-minded editors, please RSVP by Friday, June 3. We look forward to seeing you!

Coming to a roundtable? Sweeeet. We'll save a locally made Purdy's chocolate just for you.
And we will have one draw prize per roundtable: a free one-year subscription to Editing Canadian English! (If you already subscribe, you'll get the next year free.)

What to expect

We'll invite everyone to introduce themselves, and then each group will talk about whatever you wish to talk about. Please email Margaret or Patricia (see roundtable details below) with your ideas. We have suggested some topics, but we'll happily nix ours in favour of yours.

The branch/twig leaders' session will be in a meeting room on Friday afternoon. The other sessions will be at specially designated lunch tables on Saturday during lunch. Please see below for details.

We hope to see you at the roundtables!

Cheers,

Margaret Shaw and Stacey Atkinson, Regional Directors of Branches and Twigs
Patricia MacDonald, Director of Volunteer Relations
