I can help you use words to build your brand and connect with your audience.
I combine my design and editing education with my writing experience to provide a high-quality service to clients. I have worked on fiction and nonfiction books in many genres, marketing materials and newsletters, websites and blogs, social media, strategic plans, and annual reports. I am knowledgeable in the sectors of sustainable development and the natural environment; international relations and public diplomacy; arts and culture; business and entrepreneurship; and travel.
After a twelve-year career in the federal government, I started Mirror Image Publishing in 2012 as a way to independently publish my debut fiction novel Stuck. I learned so much along the way, especially when it came to editing, designing, and publishing a book, that I began offering my freelance services to other authors and to the business community. I also offer a manuscript evaluation service to help authors become publshing ready.
I hold a bachelor of design (environmental planning) from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and an editing certificate from Simon Fraser University, I am also bilingual (although I do not edit in French).
I am currently a board member of Editors Canada and a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association.
