Certification Test Preparation Guides

Updated Certification Test Preparation Guides are here!

The new Copy Editing Test Preparation Guide and the Stylistic Editing Test Preparation Guide are now available. They have been updated to reflect the 2016 edition of the Professional Editorial Standards and the new computer-testing platform for Editors Canada's professional certification program. The updated Proofreading Test Preparation Guide and Structural Editing Test Preparation Guide will be available in the spring of 2018.

Editors Canada certification recognizes editors who have demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skill in their profession. The program consists of four tests: Structural Editing, Stylistic Editing, Copy Editing, and Proofreading. We offer four test preparation guides, one for each test.

The Copy Editing Test Preparation Guide and the Stylistic Test Preparation Study Guide have been updated with Professional Editorial Standards (2016) and are available below from Editors Canada.

The Proofreading Study Guide and the Structural Editing Study Guide will be available in the spring of 2018. Until then, the versions based on Professional Editorial Standards (2009) are available below.
