If you're planning to write an EAC Certification test this year, don't delay! Registration closes TODAY at 1 p.m. EDT.
You've heard about the benefits of EAC Certification. You're eager to demonstrate your skills through tests based on the latest professional editorial standards. And you're aware that as an EAC member, you will receive a discount of $100 on each test.
But have you heard about the increased recognition of EAC credentials?
One recent job ad for a senior in-house editor said, "Certification with the Editor's Association of Canada is a definite asset." And a recent request for proposals sought editors who "Have obtained accreditation in proofreading and copy editing through university-level courses, or be certified through the Editors' Association of Canada."
With these endorsements what are you waiting for? Register now!
Bonus: Candidates who pass the 2010 tests will not have to meet future requirements for certification maintenance.
Tests in Proofreading and Copy Editing will be held on Saturday, November 20, in major centres across the country. Stylistic Editing will be offered in 2011 and Structural Editing in 2012. Pass any one test and earn a stand-alone certification credential in that area. Pass all four and earn the Certified Professional Editor (CPE) credential.
