From June 12 to 14, the Editors' Association of Canada (EAC) and the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC) will host the first international conference of editors. Editing Goes Global takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. We invite you to join the global editing and writing community to hear speakers from the US, the UK, Ireland, India, New Zealand and Canada and to connect with communication professionals from around the world during this unparalleled weekend of international networking learning and fun.
Sessions for in-house editors
In-house editors, does your employer pay for professional development courses? Sell your boss on the conference by showcasing it as several mini-courses.
Conference sessions can help you see if you should take a more formal course on a specific topic. Or sessions can expand your knowledge to where you need it, or let you understand a topic well enough to explore it on your own.

If so, consider signing up for our conference buddies program, which matches up editors in small groups, each coordinated by a lead buddy. Buddies can get to know each other before the conference starts, through email or on Facebook. During the conference, buddies can get together at the beginning of the day, at breaks and lunches, at social events—whatever works for the group.
We'll have a pre-arranged meeting place and message board for conference buddies. This year we're hoping to set up a "buddy bench" or "buddy room," with some more-seasoned local editors available for questions or just to chat.
If you'd like to be in a conference buddies group, email Xina Brousalis and include "Conference buddies" in the subject line. When we've matched up all the buddies, we'll put the groups in touch with one another so they can start to communicate before the conference.
Markets and mentors
Do you have a side business, marketable hobby or book you'd like to sell? Interested in promoting your business or association? The conference vendor fair is a great way to share your products with fellow editors, writers and communications professionals.
