EAC Certification recognizes editors who have demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skill in their profession. The program consists of four tests: Structural Editing, Stylistic Editing, Copy Editing, and Proofreading. (From 2006 to 2009, a different testing framework was used and the four tests offered were elementary knowledge of the publishing process, proofreading, copy editing, and structural and stylistic editing.)
With the release of the Structural Editing Study Guide in June 2012, EAC has now converted the entire certification program to follow the revised Professional Editorial Standards (PES-2009) that came into effect on January 1, 2010. The four study guides are
- Proofreading Study Guide
