The Shaw Conference Centre is located in downtown Edmonton, on the north bank of the North Saskatchewan River. There are many hotels within walking distance of the centre. The closest are the Marriott Courtyard, the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, the Westin and the Union Bank Inn. Contact information for these hotels and a number of others appears below.

A wide range of accommodation is available in Edmonton. There are also numerous summer festivals and hotels fill up quickly. Please book as soon as possible to get the best rate.

The jewel of Edmonton's hotels, the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald (the Mac) was built in 1915 and features Edmonton's best outdoor patio. The Queen has stayed here and so has Mick Jagger!

The beautiful, 800-bedroom MacEwan Residence at Grant MacEwan College's City Centre Campus is located in downtown Edmonton. It offers easy access to major highways, public transit and the LRT, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and Edmonton's spectacular river valley. The Residence is a 20-minute walk or 5-minute bus ride from the Shaw Conference Centre, where the conference will take place.

A block of rooms has been set aside until May 26. The special conference rates start at $65 per night (for a maximum of two people) and go up to $169 night for a four-bedroom suite that can accommodate eight people.

MacEwan Residence features bachelor, two-bedroom and four-bedroom suites. Each suite includes

a private bathroom with shower
kitchenette complete with refrigerator, stovetop and microwave oven (dishes not provided)
bedrooms equipped with a double bed complete with sheets, blankets and pillows
