Travelling to Vancouver

By air

Air Canada and WestJet both fly to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) from cities across Canada. The airport is located approximately 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver. For flight schedule information, please check each airline’s website.

There are many ways to get from YVR to your downtown Vancouver hotel and the SFU Vancouver conference venue, including taxi, limo, hotel shuttle, bus, and car rental. You can also take the Canada Line SkyTrain – Vancouver’s new rapid transit rail link connecting the airport to downtown Vancouver in less than 30 minutes. Check maps, schedules, and fares through Translink.

For more information on getting to and from YVR, click here.

By rail

VIA Rail Canada is located at Pacific Central Station in Vancouver. A short taxi or SkyTrain ride (Main Street/Science World SkyTrain Station) connects you to downtown Vancouver hotels and the SFU Vancouver conference venue.

By bus

Greyhound Bus Lines offers daily bus service between Vancouver and all major Canadian cities. As with Via Rail, the bus station is located at Pacific Central Station in Vancouver.

Getting Around Vancouver

Vancouver, particularly the downtown core, is very walkable, but the city is also served by an extensive public transportation system (see Translink) that can connect you with the beautiful North Shore or other out-of-town attractions. For complete information on how to get around Vancouver and plan your trip, visit Tourism Vancouver.
