Informal Roundtables and Student Affiliate Session

Informal Roundtables

To take full advantage of your conference time, why not attend an informal roundtable of editors with common interests or concerns? All are welcome. Except for the three branch and twig roundtables, you do not need to be an Editors Canada member to attend a roundtable.

These roundtables are a terrific way to meet editors from across the country and brainstorm ways to meet challenges and make the most of opportunities. For most roundtables, there is no need to RSVP, and you may attend more than one roundtable.

Exception: If you are a branch chair or twig coordinator, please RSVP to Margaret Shaw regarding the Friday roundtable for branch and twig leaders.

Each roundtable will bring together editors around a shared interest or theme, and each will have a host/notetaker. Although it’s optional, we encourage the host/notetaker to send the notes (300 words max) to Margaret Shaw, who is the western director of branches and twigs on the national executive council (NEC). If you do that, Margaret will be sure to carry your ideas forward to the NEC for due consideration.

Student Affiliate Session

The Student Affiliate Session is open to present and future Editors Canada student affiliates. You do not have to be registered for the conference to come to this session!

Meet with members of the student relations committee, learn what student affiliate status offers, and join the discussion to help shape the future of the student affiliate program. There will be refreshments and prizes!
