Vicki McCullough

Profile
I am very interested in supporting people to tell their own stories. In the past five years as structural editor for Visions: BC’s Mental Health and Addictions Journal, I have successfully worked with over 400 authors, ranging from mental health consumers to academics and policy makers. A copy editor for several university magazines in the sciences, medicine and dentistry, I’ve also been a thoroughbred racing correspondent writing feature articles and people profiles, have applied my theatre background to editing a book on popular theatre techniques, and have spent six years in-house doing research and editorial work on community services directories. I provide thorough attention to detail, purpose, author voice, audience, and individual publication style at reasonable rates. Complementary to editing: I am a published haiku poet, have raised two children, have almost 30 years of housing co-op experience, do standardized patient role plays, and am certified to teach the movement education approach Bones for Life.
