Profile

Clarity is paramount. Helping you convey your ideas or research results in cogent, engaging, easily understood prose is my professional raison d’être. Your finished text will be truly the sum of its parts and say what you mean it to say.

A former librarian and researcher with eclectic interests, I welcome both scholarly and general interest projects in a wide range of genres and subjects, from law and labour relations to biomedical science and belly dance.

Good editing calls for a blend of intelligence, intuition, and craft. Much of my work is from repeat clients, who come back for my resourceful, versatile, and considerate handling of every project, regardless of size or challenge. I understand that late-breaking events can precipitate last-minute changes; I’m proud of the work I do with tight deadlines and moving targets.

My background in linguistics and training as a teacher of ESL/EFL also make me the ideal choice for writers for whom English is not a first language. I work in Canadian, American, and British English, on screen or on paper, and am skilled in the following styles: AMA, APA, Chicago, MLA, CSE, and McGill (also UK and US legal citation).

Let me show you how good your writing can be.
