With an honours degree from UWO in French and Classics, I taught at the secondary level for five years before turning to educational publishing at McGraw-Hill Ryerson. Over many years since then, with publishers in different specialties, I've had hands-on involvement in all phases of the publication cycle. Stints in project management and as a managing editor have sharpened an inherent sense of urgency in meeting deadlines while maintaining quality and adhering to budget. As a freelancer, I have worked on a range of books and documents in different subjects and for different levels of readers. I like to keep abreast of advances in the processes of publishing, the changes in curriculum, and the innovations in my areas of interest. My work has involved educational materials at all levels, many of them bilingual, from elementary school to postsecondary research projects. These included reports to ministries of education and to pan-Canadian educational organizations and committees about both national and international projects, and reports for international organizations such as OECD and UNESCO. Most recent projects have included materials designed to appear in PDF and on Web sites as well as in printed formats.
