I began working in the book-publishing industry in 1984 and have years of experience in promotion and publicity (where I began) and as a managing editor, an acquisitions editor, and, above all, as a manuscript editor. I am a practical perfectionist who relishes the collaborative process of publishing and who brings strong skills, energy, and fresh eyes to my clients' projects.

In the trade book industry, I began my editing career at McClelland and Stewart, where I spent eight years, working with both experienced and novice writers on a wide range of fiction and non-fiction projects. After my first child was born, I began my freelance business. Since then, besides my work with trade book publishers, I have spent several years on contract working in medical and health care publishing: five years with a peer-reviewed monthly journal, and another year developing best practice guides for an educational institution. I also have several years' experience editing in the financial services industry. I am a Certified Professional Editor, having successfully completed EAC's certification exams in structural and stylistic editing, copy editing, proofreading, and general knowledge of the publishing industry.
