Carolyn Jongeward

Profile

My work centres on editing scholarly books and journals, trade nonfiction, university and college textbooks and testbanks, art catalogues, government reports, and grant applications. I work with a range of clients, primarily academic writers and researchers. Most projects involve stylistic and copy editing; others involve substantive editing, proofreading, and writing. Subject specializations include education, science, environmental studies, and arts. Praised by clients for high quality, meticulous work, and careful attention to detail; for thoughtful untangling of messy prose; for interactions with the authors and extra effort to ensure quality of publication; and for warning authors of such pitfalls as the use of old-fashioned terminology.

BSc, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC; MA, Royal College of Art, London, UK; EdD, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, ON; post-graduate training, Ryerson University Publishing program
