I have 12 years of experience in communications (public relations, marketing, internal and external communications), and six years of experience as an in-house editor and publisher. I have edited business books, magazines, whitepapers, proposals, speeches, annual reports, and marketing materials.
I am currently the managing editor of Diabetes Dialogue, the national consumer magazine for the Canadian Diabetes Association, and have served as managing editor on three medical journals. I have extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector, as well as finance and healthcare. I also provide freelance copy editing and graphic design services.
I have worked with a number of writers (including first-time book authors), and have always fostered a very positive editor/writer relationship. Having studied linguistics and grammar at the university level, I can provide impeccable proofreading and mechanical edits. I help turn difficult, awkward writing into prose that is clear and pleasurable to read.
I also have several years of experience in layout, and have an eye for clean, attractive book design. Having worked with printers for many years, I am a reliable liaison between my clients and print houses.
