Emily Donaldson

Profile
An editor, writer and critic with 15 years experience. I have written and edited publicity materials, newsletters, theses, grant proposals, reader’s guides and book-length fiction and non-fiction manuscripts. My book reviews of both adult and children's books appear regularly in Quill and Quire Magazine and the Toronto Star. I have a master’s degree in English and an editing certificate from George Brown College, for which I completed an internship at Cormorant Books. I worked for six years at the CBC, where my final position was as manager of marketing and creative services for international television sales. My freelance clients have included independent filmmakers and design studios, politicians on three levels of government and the Hot Docs Festival. A good deal of my work is based in the arts, humanities, and current affairs, but I am well-informed on a wide variety of subjects, including child development, autism, health, women’s issues and business. A recent major project involved substantive, stylistic and copyediting of a book on personal finance and investing to be published in by Wiley in the fall of 2009.
