Say Hello to Editors Canada

We’re transitioning to the Editors Canada brand. Over the next few months you’ll find our new look and messaging taking shape in our national and regional literature, emails and social media presence. Later this year we’ll be launching a fresh new website. Learn more about this exciting project.

Audra Gorgiev

I am a full-time professional freelance editor (copy, line, and technical editing) and proofreader with over 15 years of experience editing a wide variety of material (including textbooks; scientific, medical, and technical journal articles; K-12 and postsecondary e-learning materials; corporate communications, white papers, regulatory reports, and marketing materials; ESL documents; as well as other nonfiction work). I edit material in U.S. or Canadian English as required for the intended audience.

References will attest to my determination to accept nothing short of perfection in my work. I strive for complete accuracy and the highest degree of professionalism in the work I complete, and utilize APA, Chicago, AMA, AP, and Canadian Press manuals of style as required; I also use (or create) house style guides as needed. In addition to editing in MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro X, and MS PowerPoint, I also have experience working within structured authoring and template-based authoring content management systems, and other authoring tools (such as ScholarOne, Delta, and SharePoint), and am very comfortable working with HTML.

My editing and proofreading skills extend across many subjects and business needs—you could say that I am an “editing savant”—and have always been the hidden accomplice behind any successful document. Grammar, punctuation, clarity, formatting, and rapid turnaround are my specialties, whatever the document may be; and I work electronically or with hard copy. I am a passionate perfectionist when it comes to a succinct, well-written, and mistake-free document—that oh-so-important first impression. My time is very flexible and I am on call six days a week for long- or short-term projects; my computer is fired up at 9 a.m. and is on until 9:00 p.m. MST.

My rates vary on the level of editing and turnaround time; the billing method and rate structure can be tailored to the project. Please note that I do strive to work within my clients’ budgets.
