I'm a former magazine journalist with more than 20 years experience writing, editing and proofing. I've written plain language materials, taught writing at the university level, copy edited a newsmagazine, written annual reports for health organizations and grad schools—and write fiction and poetry as well. As inaugural Poet Laureate for Halifax, my home for several years, I edited an anthology that was shortlisted for the N.S. Lieutenant Governor's Masterworks Arts Award.
