I provide copy editing, proofreading, plain language editing, stylistic editing, substantive editing, and rewriting to governments, not-for-profit organizations, publishers, and businesses. The materials I work on vary widely and include reports (some quite technical), books, and websites. My experience in the fields of education and the environment is extensive. Another specialty is social marketing – communication that transforms the way people think, feel, and act. Publications I have edited include a non-fiction finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award, winners of the Cuisine Canada Cookbook Award and the International Herb Association Book Award, and a quarterly nature magazine that repeatedly wins (gold in 2008) at the Canadian Magazine Awards. I respect my clients and work hard for them. A favourite one, for whom I've edited three books, acknowledged me in the second – “Absolutely awesome is her talent for swooping down with lightning speed on the incoherent thought and the flawed syntax” – and third – “Sarah Weber has been a superb editor – precise, fast, unforgiving, yet gentle.” I love this job! |
