The core of my work is stylistic editing, copy editing, and proofreading of adult and young adult fiction and trade nonfiction, but my range is wide: I’ve worked as an editor and proofreader on everything from literary fiction in translation to university social sciences textbooks to royal commission reports. My clients include HarperCollins, House of Anansi, D&M, McClelland & Stewart, Random House, Pearson/Penguin, and Oxford University Press. Authors have called me “a true professional, incredibly thorough” and “the sweetest copy editor alive.” Wearing other publishing hats, I am a director and Past Chair of the Book and Periodical Council, an umbrella group for Canadian publishing-industry associations. Until recently, I taught in and co-coordinated the Ryerson University Publishing certificate program. I am, as well, a published and exhibited photographer; talk to me about stock or other illustrative material. BA, English/theatre arts, University of Waterloo; MA and PhD, English, University of Toronto; post-graduate training, Ryerson University Publishing program.
