A versatile and experienced editor, I began my career at Oxford University Press in England in 1987 and have since worked in-house for several leading Canadian book publishers—including five years as a senior editor at Penguin Group (Canada) and five years as an editor at Doubleday Canada. More recently, I have also worked as an editor for a number of financial and marketing companies and for an Ontario government agency. With an MA in English Literature, a BSc in Biology and a Certificate in Strategic Communications, I have a broad academic background. My work as an editor has provided me with multiple perspectives on the craft of writing and editing, and I am equally at home with creative or technical writing. Over the years, I have honed my appreciation of limpid prose. Recent accomplishments include substantively editing the winner of the 2010 Governor General’s Literary Award for Non-Fiction. |
