Profile

A book author as well as an editor, I value the individual writer's voice above all and do my utmost to help clients achieve their writing and publication goals. Through my literary consulting business, http://www.helpingyougetpublished.com,  I  specialize in editing and mentoring new authors seeking conventional publication, literary representation, or notable self-publishing success.

I have a PhD with specialties in history, popular culture, and publishing studies, alongside years of varied editorial experience with academic, commercial, and creative nonfiction; short fiction; and literary, mainstream, and genre novels. I have served on editorial boards and, with five books and more than forty articles to my credit as an author, have taught in university writing and publishing programs. My writing and editing have been featured in both the popular media and special-interest publications. For details, visit: http://www.helpingyougetpublished.com/whoiam.html

Though I work part of the time from my country home, my business is based in West Vancouver, and I have an international clientele of published and emerging authors. My business mailing address is:

Suite 515 - 1489 Marine Drive
West Vancouver, BC  V7T 1B8

What clients say:

You immediately validated my ability and gave credence to my voice. Not only that, but you literally catapulted my manuscript from the mass of languishing manuscripts in the slush pile and brought it to none other than HarperCollins. That's quite a coup...
--Richard Dube, author of The Haven

Thank you, Patricia, for your insightful editing, and your support and encouragement during the difficult moments along the path to being in print--you really did help us get published!
--Ian Johnson, PhD,  author of How to Lead and Still Have a Life!

I will not hesitate to recommend your service to anyone in need of outstanding professional editing work.
--F. A. Paniagua, PhD, author of The Blessing Flood and Other Tales
