I am an editor with extensive experience in visual art publications.

While working as an in-house editor at the Art Gallery of Ontario, I gained an in-depth knowledge of art. In addition to editing and proofreading exhibition catalogues, books, newsletters, labels and panels, marketing brochures and flyers, press releases, menus, invitations, ads, annual reports and some website copy, I also wrote articles for Art Matters—the AGO’s newsletter for members—and artists’ biographies for art-related retail products.

I am an organized and personable individual who possesses strong communication and coordinating skills. My work experience ranges from substantive editing and rewriting to copy editing and proofreading—editing skills that can be applied to many other subjects in any media.

Writers have often commended me for my “sensitive and intelligent” editing of their words. Although a text may require reorganization, clarification and polishing, I believe that an author’s unique voice should remain inviolate.
