At its best, editing is in the service of the writer and document. I favour a light touch in my work, preserving the writer’s style. However, I am well versed in grammatical and stylistic issues, and will strive for an error-free document, one that is uncluttered and easy to understand. With varied personal interests, I bring a breadth of knowledge and skill to any project. I have always been a voracious reader of all manner of books and magazines. No morning is complete for me without a perusal of the day’s newspaper. I am well read in the science fiction genre and have read science magazines all my life. Etymology has always fascinated me, and because of this, my old Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary is now a battered wreck. Other interests include movies and music. A musician for many years, I am now a proofreader and researcher at the Literary Review of Canada. I have an Editing Certificate from George Brown College and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Toronto. I am available to work on weekends. |
