There's something about being able to edit a work, about being able to help its author ensure that the product that hits the market is the best it can possibly be, that I've always loved. As an avid reader and a stickler when it comes to spelling and grammar, I'm always on the lookout for errors. Knowing I can help keep them from making it through the last steps towards being published is part of the reason I decided to become an editor in the first place. Being able to assist with making the final published product as perfect as humanly possible is, to me, the ultimate form of appreciation of literature, and I have always enjoyed both reading and writing with a passion. EDUCATION: I'm currently completing a Bachelor's of Arts degree at Simon Fraser University (English Major, Publishing Minor). EXPERIENCE: I have been an Associate Editor for the Vancouver-based Now Or Never Publishing company and have personally edited five novels (details may be found on my personal website). I have also done volunteer work for Engage Books. In both capacities I have been employed as a proofreader and copy-editor. |
