I am the former publisher of Napoleon & Company, a Toronto-based house which operated for twenty-two years publishing Canadian books. Napoleon, under numerous imprints, published children’s books, fiction and non-fiction, picture books and novels. and biography, history, We also published adult fiction, literature and popular fiction. Our mystery and crime fiction, RendezVous Crime, was one of our strongest imprints and was nominated for and won many Arthur Ellis Awards over the years. As well, our children’s fiction was nominated for and won many awards such as the Canadian Library Association Best Young Adult fiction, the Silver Birch and the Red Maple awards for children sponsored by the Ontario Library Association, the Hackmatack award for schools in the Martimes, the SYRCA list for Saskatchewan school children, and many others too numerous to list. Many of our books were listed in the Best Book catalogue produced by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre. I will also be happy to take on other interesting projects. I can offer substantive analysis as well as copyediting and all manner of manuscripts. I am fluent in French and German, having obtained an MA in German and studied in French universities. Although I am not interested in translating, I will proof short texts for grammar and spelling in both languages.
