Nancy Mackenzie provides writing and editing services for government, non-profit organizations, and book publishers. Her portfolio includes web content, newsletters, communications materials, reports, booklets, brochures, and letters for Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, Alberta Education, the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Alberta Environment, Children’s Services , and AADAC. Nancy was one of two writers of the Heritage Community Foundation's Century of Achievement website for the University of Alberta. Book publishers Nancy has worked for include: Oxford University Press, Pearson Education Canada, Nelson Thomson Learning Inc., McGraw-Hill Ryerson, Altitude Publishing, The Banff Centre Press, The University of Calgary Press, Alberta Education, and AADAC. Nancy is the author of The Illuminated Life (2002) and Soul's Flight (1997) – books of poetry published by Ekstasis Editions; Adventurous Albertans: The Women and Men Who Built this Province (1993), a Grade 4 social studies textbook, published by Plains Publishing Inc.; Peter's Birthday (1987), a children's grade 1 textbook, published by Reidmore Books. She is the co-author of Eyeing the Magpie (2007), a collection of 5 women poets; and Peter's Moccasins (1987), a children's grade 1 textbook co-authored with Jan Truss, published by Reidmore Books.
