Touchable Content: Rethinking the Role of the Digital Editor
Media companies have been turning to tablets for new audiences and revenue opportunities, but this new platform is changing the publishing game. Truly touchable content requires editors to rethink their roles, think as designers, and plan beyond text for deep, interactive features that keep readers on their toes. This workshop will introduce you to tablet editing, unravel the secrets to sourcing great tablet content, and let you experiment with your own content pieces.
Nicole Villeneuve is a digital editor with experience across print, web, mobile, and broadcast platforms for media outlets such as Blue Ant Media, CBC, Exclaim! magazine, and others. She launched and edited AUX Magazine, the first mobile-exclusive music magazine, a product that was continually at the top of the iTunes and Google Play music magazine charts, collected awards from across the globe, and reached almost a million people worldwide.
