Copy Editing Scientific Papers and Reports

This seminar doesn’t teach science, and it doesn’t teach copy editing. What it does teach is how to apply editorial principles to scientific material, and how to apply scientific conventions to text.

Topics covered include the structure of papers and reports, abstracts and summaries, commonly used styles and guides, best practices, common problems in scientific text, measures, statistics, equations, tables, graphs, and citation. Bonus public-domain reference material is provided to help you get started.
