You are here
Congratulations! You’ve found an editor who has an eye for editing, a love of the red pen, and a desire to collaborate.
Hi. I’m Amy Lewis, owner and freelance editor of Eye for Editing.
Although new to the editing industry, my non-editing background of 25 years was the foundation of my passion for the red pen. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Studies Planning and Development (Honours) and almost 20 years of administrative experience, most recently in the tourism industry. During this time, my exposure to editing various material broadened my interest to pursue editing professionally. In early 2019, I embraced my passion by enrolling in Simon Fraser University’s Editing Certificate Program and later opening my business. My goals are set high as achieving professional certification through Editors’ Association of Canada is next in line.
Ensuring your project achieves its purpose is my objective. I offer structural editing, stylistic editing, copy editing, and proofreading for business-related material within the tourism and recreation sectors. Some projects I’ve worked on include brochures, trail maps, policies, presentations, reports, instructional material, and weekly communications. Most of my clients are ski-industry businesses and I am looking to expand my portfolio to include other tourism-related companies.
My eye for editing is superior to a computer and worth your investment because your audience expects the best from you. I contribute beyond the page in a way that makes a difference to your business, so let’s talk about how I can be your editorial support.
