Angela E. Gradish
March Hare Editing and Consulting
I’m an editor and writer specializing in science-related content geared toward academic or general audiences. I have a BSc in Zoology and an MSc and PhD in Environmental Biology, and I have completed several professional editor courses through Simon Fraser University.
I provide substantive, structural, and copyediting services depending on your writing needs and goals. While maintaining your voice and message, I will catch typos and grammatical mistakes; simplify complex concepts; and ensure your writing is accurate, clear, concise, and well-organized. I can draw on my combined experience as a research scientist and editor to help get your grant awarded, paper published, or thesis defended.
I have experience editing and writing research proposals, grant applications, theses, dissertations, reports for government and industry, peer-reviewed journal articles, literature reviews, conference materials, lectures and course materials, scholarship applications, white papers, website copy, newsletters, blog posts, CVs, resumes, cover letters, and research presentations. I also train and mentor graduate students on the art and science of thesis and dissertation writing.
I have education and interest in many subjects, including agriculture, pesticide toxicology, animal behaviour, entomology, population genetics, ecology, evolution, physiology, and pathology.
Here’s what some of my clients have said about my services:
"Angela’s editing and feedback helped me greatly improve my grade on my paper. There is no faster or more precise copyeditor out there." Glen, undergraduate student
"Angela is an excellent editor. She has provided me with indispensable, constructive feedback on my writing style, information flow, and technical presentation of data. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking to improve their writing." Graham, scientist
"Angela is an amazing editor! She sent her feedback incredibly quickly and gave very clear and detailed notes on how to fix grammatical issues, improve the overall structure of my paper, and strengthen certain phrases. If you have any piece of writing—whether you think you need a second pair of eyes on it or not—you can’t go wrong with hiring Angela as your editor." Alex, graduate student
