You are here
Hi, there! My name is Antoinette Karuna, and I work with words—writing, editing, and translating them—to help you reach new markets, improve your communications, and connect with the right audiences.
As your editor, I make sure that your message is communicated effectively, enabling you to present yourself with confidence and professionalism and setting you up for communication success!
This means that I ensure that concepts are clearly expressed, that the style used is consistent, that the tone is appropriate to your target reader, and that the copy is free of grammar, syntax, spelling, and punctuation errors. I value the use of plain language and apply its principles when appropriate.
I edit a variety of texts—from children's books to government reports to marketing collateral—including documents written by individuals for whom English is an additional language (non-native English writers). I also offer comparative editing, which means that I revise English translations of French and German texts to ensure that the translation is faithful to the original text.
I offer the following editing services: bilingual editing; plain language editing; substantive, stylistic, and copy editing; and proofreading. I also offer writing and translation services.
Please visit my website (www.karunacommunications.com) for more information and to read client testimonials.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies (specializing in Film Production) with a minor in Creative Writing from Concordia University. My university studies and years of professional experience in creative writing and screenwriting have provided me with a profound understanding of storytelling and narrative structure—knowledge that I bring to all my editorial work.
I reside in beautiful Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and travel widely. I have lived in London, Berlin, and Montreal.
