Primary contact:

I work with professionals and academics at all levels to refine the quality of your English language texts. Years of experience with teaching, supervision, research, publication and grant-writing let me help you craft a document nuanced to its particular purpose and type.  And whether you are undergraduate or graduate, faculty or professional, they help me appreciate the challenge that each project presents to you.

The diversity of my own work gives me access to the language of theory, policy and practice across a range of interconnected fields.  Study, publishing and teaching has taken me through the natural and social sciences, ecological, social and risk assessment, landscape architecture, urban planning and design, commerce, moral and political philosophy, and psychological health.  I work with the technical terms appropriate to a wide range of fields and audiences to properly ground each analysis and strengthen the power of the text. I also genuinely understand the need for academic writing to be both incisive and a pleasure to read.

My practice has focused on those whose first language is English, French, Spanish and Arabic, but I work with a wide range of individuals and organizations across Canada and Europe.  The English I use can be tailored to Canadian, American or British readers.

Each editing process will create a writer-editor team.  I will be available at short notice for your questions and I will need you to be available for mine as we work together to meet the required deadlines.  Editing is a pleasure.  Please feel free to contact me with questions.  I work at all levels of the writing process, welcome short projects, and will edit a few paragraphs to give you a sense of the difference it will make.
