Christine Whitehouse, PhD

Experienced public speaker, available to talk to groups and associations about editors and editing.

I have a PhD in the humanities; however, I started developing my editing skills much earlier as a cheeky twelve year old correcting friends' grammar. I have worked as a university writing centre tutor, a Business English Communications facilitator, and a history professor. As a result of my teaching background, my editing style is interactive, instructional, and intelligible (alliteration a free bonus!).

I specialize in editing non-fiction, especially academic and business texts. If you are a student, professor, or entrepreneur, I want to work with you! I have a particular knack for developing successful grant applications and writing winning proposals. I also write and edit Plain Language, ensuring information about government policies, programs, and services is presented to the public in a clear and consistent style.
