Coryl Addy, Bachelor of Arts
Coryl Addy is a freelance editor always in search of new, creative projects in fiction, academic writing, and transcription.
Coryl is currently unavailable for unsolicited projects in 2021 until further notice. She appreciates any inquiries for future projects.
She has worked with self-published authors to help edit their manuscripts, format paperbacks, design covers and layouts, and create e-books. She has also reviewed over 500 academic assignments from students, ranging from essays, case studies, scientific reports, speeches, and short stories, as well as resumes, CVs, and cover letters. She prides herself on strong academic integrity policy and training to respect students' original work in post-secondary settings.
Coryl's work with self-published authors of fiction includes novels, short stories, and poetry. She has worked as a substantive editor, stylistic editor, copy editor, and proofreader for these authors. Additionally, she has experience in desktop publishing for self-publishing avenues in print and e-book formats, primarily for the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing services. Her designs prioritize functional e-books and beautiful paperbacks that enhance the reader experience and bring the author's words to the forefront.
As an editor and designer, Coryl values open communication, the author's creative vision, and high quality files. Consider her feedback suggestive, rather than prescriptive, from a place of sincere encouragement.
If you have a future book you're considering that needs a helping hand, from editing to formatting, please get in touch! She would love to collaborate on your next project, or help polish your writing to a high quality.
Request a free, 5-page sample edit on your project. It's important to have an editor who fits, and this trial-run is a great way to see if Coryl is right for your writing. She will encourage it anyway, so just take it. ;-)
Coryl loves working with writers who use English as a second language. She has a passion for language learning on her own, experience working with ESL students, and an education including second language acquisition theory. If English is your second language, please do not hesitate to reach out for help with your writing from an experienced editor who knows English grammar on an intimate personal and educational level.
