Fine Line Edits
Profile
As an editor, I work to promote clarity, consistency, and liveliness of expression. My credentials include advanced degrees in English, culminating with a PhD from the University of Victoria (2021). A long-running literary career developed my ear for enjoyable writing. A parallel background working on technical and business materials helps me ensure writers’ voices are accurate, digestible, and compelling for target audiences.
My company—Fine Line Edits—invites a range of content formats. Examples include marketing or training materials, project proposals, technical reports, website content, and professional bios; academic articles or creative manuscripts; as well as presentations and speeches. Other service offerings include research, original writing, and education in written composition.
I have edited three book-length editions for academic and literary presses. They are Where the Nights are Twice as Long, Post-glacial: The Poetry of Robert Kroetsch, and Leo Ferrari’s long-lost Globularist Hoax manuscript. Since 2015, I have served as an editor at the Malahat Review, a prominent literary journal with world-wide reach. Self-authored publications include peer-reviewed literary criticism; many book reviews; creative writing; and, most recently, an entry on the poet Alden Nowlan for the Literary Encyclopedia. See FineLineEdits.com for writing samples, a publication list, and glowing testimonials.
