I am the founder and proprietor of Wise on Words, an editing company specializing in fiction, nonfiction, academic textbook publishing, theses, dissertations, technical writing, and self-publishing.

Wise on Words also offers SEO content writing services including but not limited to business to business marketing, web pages, blog posts, emails, articles, white papers, e-books, sell sheets, and social media.

I can help you choose your words and content wisely.

I earned my editing certification from the University of Waterloo. My editing strengths are in structural editing, copy editing, stylistic editing, and proofreading. I have a very strong Arts, Humanities and Media background, having more than 20 years of experience teaching English, Writing, Communications, the Humanities, and English as a Foreign Language at universities in North America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. I have extensive experience editing and developing course textbooks and program curricula.

I am a writer of poetry and fiction and an independent scholar. I have a PhD in Creative Writing and English from the University of Essex, under the supervision of the celebrated Anglo-Irish avant-garde poet Phillip Terry. My dissertation focused on contemporary poetry and W.H. Auden. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master of Arts degrees in English from the University of Toronto. My research background is in contemporary poetics, literary criticism, conceptual writing methods, rhetoric and composition theory, contemporary fiction, and travel writing. I won 2nd Prize in the 2016 Troubadour International Poetry Prize and was awarded an Ontario Arts Council Grant in 2018.

I am currently based in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge tri-city region. I have been teaching English and Communications courses in the University of Waterloo's First Arts Program and the School of Engineering and English Department's Communication in the Sciences Initiative.

I previously worked as an editorial assistant at the CBC National Radio Newsroom in Toronto.
