Primary contact:

I’m a professional editor and indexer with a special interest in social justice and critical politics. I’m also a writer, so I understand the exquisite torture of finding the right words to convey your meaning. I will support you in saying what you mean clearly and ensure that your language fits your audience.

I provide copy editing, stylistic editing, developmental editing, and indexing for non-fiction books, articles, and dissertations in the social sciences and humanities. I have experience in the fields of cultural studies, political economy, political science, international development studies, sociology, anthropology, history, and international relations. I am especially interested in critical race theory, environmental justice, feminism, indigenous studies, housing, and studies on the state/sovereignty.

Here’s what some of my past clients say about working with me:

"I would like to thank you so much for your careful and attentive reading of my work. It's clear that not only do you have a brilliant mind for grammar and structure and clarity, but you also really seemed understand my work and what I'm trying to do."

—Robyn Maynard, author of Policing Black Lives: State Violence in Canada from Slavery to the Present, Fernwood Publishing

“Fazeela is an amazing editor who has been able to patiently and meticulously refine my own ideas and wording to achieve new levels of clarity, focus, and accuracy. Her abilities to understand both the format and content, to make explicit what was hidden, to rectify what was mistaken are paramount. She also has an amazing capacity to understand what was intended in the writing, especially for those who have English as their second language.”

—Rafael Wainer, Sessional Lecturer, Department of Anthropology & Department of Sociology, UBC
