My education was in physiology and biochemistry, and I use that plus my training as an editor and technical writer in the range of scientific and medical editing services I offer. Reports, articles, guidelines, instructions, books and websites -- I can prepare the text for any medium and audience.

Substantive, stylistic and copy editing, research and fact-checking, writing and rewriting—I'm adept in the process of document production. I also coach scientists and medical professionals, individually or in groups, in writing for publication in English language  journals. I have given workshops in plain language and scientific writing for various readers.

Clients, current and recent, include the Public Health Agency of Canada, Credit Valley Conservation, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the World Health Organization, the College of Family Physicians, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Health Canada and the Council of Canadian Academies, as well as many individuals and smaller organizations.

I've edited documents in a wide range of subjects – epidemics, antimicrobial resistance, conservation, vaccinations, food contaminants, pesticide and antibiotic residues, nursing, health office administration, first aid training, climate change, the opioid crisis, water and food safety, etc. Recent publications include:

Aging and chronic disease: A profile of Canadian seniors

Evaluation of certain food additives: Eighty-sixth report of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives
